Forecast Briefing

A very active severe wx pattern is shaping up from Saturday into Wednesday of next week. Significant severe wx looks likely Saturday 5/10 from NE Texas/SE Oklahoma into Arkansas & Sunday 5/11 points eastward from the Mid-South/Southeast....and then a more significant severe wx event looks to be on tap for Tuesday evening on into Wednesday. If the GFS is correct, a significant tornado outbreak is possible Wednesday 5/14 across SE Missouri & MO Bootheel, much of C/E Arkansas and into adjacent areas of W.Kentucky...W.Tennessee...N/W Mississippi...and into NW Alabama. Things look very scary on the GFS forecast if the right amount of deep Gulf moisture can move under a very deeply sheared regime. If the Euro is correct, the severe wx threat will be tempered down some. Stay tuned....

KC Metro Severe Weather Forecast

A review of the ext. models suggests the next possible round of severe wx for the KC Metro should occur late Tue. night 5/13 into Wed. 5/14. The GFS was a bit more enhanced than the Euro so will have to keep an eye on things.
